Vasco was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather who leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and kindness.
Born in Portugal, Vasco emigrated to Canada with his beloved wife Maria in search of new opportunities and to start a family. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and memories. Vasco was married to Maria for 63 years before her passing in 2023, and their bond was truly special—a testament to their devotion to each other.
Vasco is survived by his son Francisco (Dawn) and his cherished granddaughters, Olivia and Maëlle, who brought immense joy to his life. He had a unique ability to light up whenever his granddaughters were around, and his face would always shine with love and happiness in their presence. His family meant the world to him, and he took great pride in being a father and grandfather.
He was also the beloved brother to Raquel and Deodete (Joao), and a cherished member of the Brasil family. Vasco was predeceased by his parents, Manuel and Maria, and by his siblings Jose, Gonzaga, Carmel, Amarvelino, Fernanda, Deodato, and Clotilde, all of whom he holds in loving memory.
Vasco had a deep passion for gardening, and many fondly recall his pride in the fruits of his labor. His garden was his sanctuary, and he took great satisfaction in nurturing plants and flowers. Whether tending to his garden or spending time with his family, Vasco’s quiet strength, kindness, and generosity will never be forgotten.
In his later years, Vasco remained a humble and gentle presence, content with the simple joys of life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he now rest in peace, reunited with Maria, and forever remembered in the hearts of his family.
