So sorry, Lee! Ann truly was a superhero, she inspired everyone she met. She had an infectious smile! I often thought of her as inspirational even before she started her fight against IBC.
When she first started at KUB, I sat with her in Soc Ser and the way she was with people and her humor and laugh my goodness, she could make anyone comfortable! You also are a superhero husband and I know she appreciated everything you did for her. You guys are such special people. The whole Harvey story still brings tears to my eyes thinking of how he was meant to find you guys. Know that everyone is here when you need us!

Lee,
Ann brought out the best in everyone! She lived life to the fullest! She wasn't afraid to be real with others, in good times and bad. She encouraged us when we were down, made us smile when we needed it, and cried with us when we mourned. She was the perfect example of what a TRUE friend really is. Lee, you captured her heart and she loved you fiercely. She was always mentioning how thankful she was to have you in her life and how much you did for her, especially when when the cancer came. She was concerned about how hard you worked to keep her taken care of. She wasn't concerned about how cancer impacted her own life, she hated its unfair impact on you. She was so proud of you. Thank you Lee for being a wonderful husband, friend, and care taker for our sweet Ann! You are so loved by Ann and all of us. To Donn and Freida and the rest of the family: Thank you all for sharing your beautiful Ann with us. She was a shining light in our dark times and loved us for who we are. I am so thankful that Ann gave her life to Jesus. All who have accepted Him in this life will will be with Ann again one day. I am proud to say that Ann Keener was and is my friend. She made a huge impact on my life! Love you Ann, thanks for all of the wonderful memories!

Ann was everything one could hope to be - compassionate, loving, fun, gracious - all while kicking butt and taking names! She brought laughter and love to all those around her, and was truly an inspiration. She will be missed greatly by those who knew her.

I never had the opportunity or honor of meeting Ann in person. My daughter Barbara Hillmann Davis met Ann and her brother Keith at a church workcamp. I got to know Ann on Facebook. Loved her sense of humor, courage, faith and love. Through all her pain and suffering these wonderful qualities shone through. I learned about Lee and all the family and friends who rallied and prayed and supported Ann in such a loving selfless way. God's miracle did not come in the form we were looking for but in the plan He had for Ann. May she rest in the peace of His loving arms.

Ann's strength and beauty and radiant spirit will forever be a vibrant memory in my heart. She has touched my life and the lives of so many in ways that lift and encourage and inspire. It is so hard for all who love her to see her leave this world, but she will be with us always in some way and is waiting to welcome us home when our time comes. Sending much love and prayers to Lee and all of Ann's family. I cannot imagine the loss you are experiencing. Please feel all the love that surrounds you now.
