

Anna Kay Engert Beeler Bowles, 89, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on April 27, 2026, at UT Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband for 44 years, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. Anna was a faithful member of Valley View Baptist Church, where she was known for her thoughtfulness and care to her fellow members. She was known for her love of writing cards for every occasion, including birthdays, anniversaries, illnesses, and losses, along with words of encouragement and keeping others in her prayers.
Anna worked at and retired from St. Mary’s Medical Center where she served as an admission clerk in the main hospital and Women’s Pavilion.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, William Jerome and Mary Kate Engert; sister, Jerrilyn Engert Freels; son, Daniel Jerome Beeler. She is survived by her husband, Erby Bowles; children, Cindy Cruze (Darryl), Gary Beeler (Samantha), Kristi Spurling (Ron), Melody Rippons (Brian), and Roger Bowles (Karen); grandchildren, Brandi Walker (Shannon), Jeremy Bell (Ashley), David Beeler, Brad Beeler (Denise), LeaAnna Walker (Michael), Shane Spurling (Savannah), Brandon Rippons (Rachel), Amanda Myers (Joshua), Courtney Beeler, Emilee Jones (Eric), Nick Bowles (Britton), and Tucker Bowles (Amy Salvaggio); great-grandchildren, Hannah Walker (Ben), Kirstyn Walker, Alex Walker, Addie Walker, Jarrod Hensley, Anna Grace Bell, Martin Walker, Sammy Spurling, Stella Spurling, Riley Rippons, Madeline Myers, Sebastian Myers, Cameron Myers, Aubree Jones, Harper Jones, Carson Bowles, Addison Bowles, Cooper Bowles, Oakley Bowles, and Benett Bowles; special sister-in-law, Gail Beeler; along with nephews, a niece, additional family, and her special canine companion, Toby.
The family will receive friends from 12-2pm on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Dr., Knoxville, Tennessee with the funeral service at 2pm. Rev. Jared Shumate officiating. Graveside service will immediately follow at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Bell, David Beeler, Brad Beeler, Brandon Rippons, Shane Spurling, Alex Walker, Nick Bowles, and Tucker Bowles.
During her lifetime, she supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Alzheimer’s Association, and Disabled American Veterans.
