Wolf, Barbara Jane Smith, Age 75, born June 18, 1938, joined her savior, Jesus Christ, and her family in heaven on September 1, 2013. A gifted naturalist and award-winning artist, Barbara’s works grace many homes and businesses across the US. Nothing gave her more joy than working in her garden, unless it was finding the perfect shell or capturing an image in her painting. Her artistry in the kitchen produced bountiful meals and numerous delicious pies and cakes she willingly shared with family and friends. Like the virtuous woman in the Bible, whatever her hand found to do, she did it well. Barbara’s marriage to her beloved husband of almost 57 years, Robert Wolf, was truly a match made in heaven. Together they were among the founding members of their church, Knoxville Christian Center, quietly serving faithfully where needed. They enjoyed many trips both in the United States and abroad, usually with family and friends. From camping to cruises, their excitement for the new adventures was always contagious. Having the gift of service, Barbara preferred to work behind the scenes rather than in the spotlight. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, the Fountain City Garden Club, and the Fountain City Artist’s Guild. In addition to her church, she was an active member of Women’s Aglow for many years. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Schuy and Tennessee Anderson Smith, and her sister, Mary Ruth Hudson. In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by children Susannah and Robby Wolf, grandchildren Tyler and Taylor Wolf, great-grandson Jakobe Wolf Lash, Robert’s extended family, numerous nieces and nephews, and her lifelong friend, Winnie Romoser and family. The tender loving care provided by Robert, daughter Susannah, and friend Sheila Welch allowed her to remain at home during her illness.
