Betty Jean Brewer Branch

Betty Jean Brewer Branch, age 89, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Betty was a lifelong resident of Knoxville, TN and a member of Buffat Heights Baptist Church. She retired from Knox County Schools as a teaching assistant. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her hobbies included watching UT football and basketball games, reading and crafting. Betty also enjoyed spending time with her family and special friends at Windsor Ridge Assisted Living. She always looked forward to her monthly visits with Mary Francis and Elaine from Buffat Heights Baptist Church.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Branch; parents, Holbert and Elva Brewer; brother, Robert Brewer; sister, Patsy Snyder. She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Bill) Gentry, Karen (Steve) Irwin, Kristy (David) Ferguson; granddaughters, Kristin (Scott) Shoemaker, Katherine (Matt) Doane, and Kandice Irwin; great grandchildren, Macy Shoemaker, Nickolas Shoemaker, and Isaiah Doane; brothers, Lynn (Pat) Brewer and Wayne Brewer; brother-in-law, Roy Branch; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will take place at 3:00pm Tuesday, September 22nd at Lynnhurst Cemetery, meeting at the graveside at 2:45pm. Rev. Matthew Doane officiting. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Kim Wiggins for her help and support, Megan Edmisten, FNP-C, Brea Keltgen, RN, Adoration Health, UT Hospice and the Windsor Ridge Assisted Living staff for the care given to Betty.
