Smith, Betty Louise, age 81, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at home. She was a member of Arlington Baptist Church. Betty volunteered for 8 years with Knox County Schools and served as a substitute teacher for 24 years with the last 20 years at Northwest Middle School. Preceded in death by parents, Tilmon and Ethyl Campbell Cosby; infant sister, Ruth; and two brothers, Marshall and Gordon, both of Tazewell. Survived by husband of 57 years, Wilfred Smith; son and daughter-in-law; Kevin and Jennifer Smith; sister, Marie (George) Ledford of Alcoa; brother, Austin (Loretta) Cosby of Monroe, MI; nephews, Jerry and Mike Cosby both of Tazewell; nieces, Virginia Jacobson of Tazewell, Bobbie Navarr and Linda Jones both of Monroe, MI. Graveside service will be 4 pm Friday at Lynnhurst Cemetery with Pastor Tim Guthrie officiating.
