Bettye O. Reins

Bettye Oliver Reins, 87, passed away peacefully in Knoxville. Born in Charlotte, NC, Bettye was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Hamilton Reins, Sr., and daughter of the late Acie Andrew Oliver and Winnie Frazier Oliver.

Bettye attended Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC. Her professional life included positions with the Military Assistance Institute in Arlington, VA, and the family business in Morristown, TN. She found joy in spending time at the beach, cooking, and most importantly, cherishing moments with her beloved family.

Bettye is survived by her son, Thomas “Tommy” Reins, Jr., and his wife, Angela, of Knoxville, TN; and her granddaughter, Alexa “Lexie” Reins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary O. Stanley; brother, Glenn Edward Oliver, Sr.; stepsister, Jane Oliver, and stepbrother, Acie Oliver, Jr.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 2nd from 5-7pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Dr., Knoxville, TN 37918. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 3rd at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 200 W. Cowles St., Wilkesboro, NC 28697 at 2pm with graveside service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 200 W Cowles St, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
