Bille Jean Stidham (Isom), age 73, passed away April 22nd, 2018 after a brave struggle with a chronic autoimmune disease. She was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church Fountain City for 50 years, and a member of the Koinonia Sunday School Class.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many. Billie was a strong force in many people’s lives and will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
She served as a registered nurse at U.T. Medical Center for 25 years, working in the labor and delivery department, and in subsequent years the preoperative surgical unit. She retired to return to graduate school, and received her degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2002. She worked as a Nurse Practitioner and continued to care for patients until October 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Charlene Isom, and her brothers Benton and Roger Isom. She leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Franklin Delano Stidham. She also leaves behind her daughters Carmen Gammon of Knoxville, TN, Dr. Michelle (Doug) Lakin of Corryton, TN, Dr. Katrina Stidham (Nathan Linn) of Tuckahoe, NY, Andrea (Stacy) Atkinson of Effingham, SC, and grandchildren; Chandler, Colson, and Chaney Lakin, and Esther and Violet Linn, and sister Gayetta Collins.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, April 25th from 6-8pm at Central Baptist Church Fountain City, 5364 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN. Funeral services will follow at 8pm. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Thursday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for graveside service at 11:00am.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all of those at U.T. Medical Center and Beverly Park Place who so passionately cared for her during her recent illness.
