

Carl Anderson Watkins, age 98, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022 at Courtyards Senior Assisted Living. Carl was preceded in death by parents, Lillard and Mary Watkins; sisters, Melba Shaw, Janie Robinson and Patsy Myers; brothers, Cecil Watkins, William Watkins and Bernard Watkins; niece, Teresa Hicks; nephew, Mike Rymer. Also, many friends and other family members.
Left behind to mourn his passing are his daughter, Mayda Schiller and husband, Brian Schiller; granddaughters, Desiree Franklin Best and Danielle Robinson Nesham; great granddaughters, Heartley Best, D'ana Robinson and Sophie Nesham; step-daughter, Elaine Ashcraft; nieces, Linda Faulkner and husband, Jim Faulkner, Sandy Singleton and husband, Dave Singleton, Celeste Troutman and husband, Steve Troutman and Mary Zachary; nephews, James D. Floyd and wife, Bobbie Floyd; grand nephew, David L. Hicks. Carl has left behind many grand nieces and nephews as well as great grand nieces and nephews.
Carl was affectionately known as "Uncle Boss". No one can remember where the nickname, "Boss" came from. He was an auto body mechanic before retiring. Carl took pride in his appearance and would iron and crease his work pants and shirts. He polished his shoes every morning before work. Carl loved to fish in his younger years and would often spend weekends fishing on Douglas Lake. More recently, he loved to eat out at the Cracker Barrel after doctor visits or on various family occasions when able to do so.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
