Charles Edward Hackney, Jr.

HACKNEY, CHARLES ED-WARD, JR. - age 76, passed away peacefully at home fol-lowing a long battle with Alz-heimer's. He was a member of Norwood Baptist Church. He worked at Dempster Brothers and the University of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles, Sr. and Pearl Hackney, brothers, Kenneth Hackney and Eu-gene Autary. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Henderlight Hackney; daughter, Karen Hackney; granddog, Katie; brother, George Thomas Hackney and wife, Lena; brother in law, Norton Henderlight and wife, Verdie; sisters-in-law, Helen Rose Hackney and Barbara Autary; aunts, Mildred Weaver and Kathleen Mink; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thanks to all the family, friends and caregivers who helped us through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Norwood Baptist Church, 1725 Wilson Rd. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday followed by the funeral service at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Fred Wade officiating.
