Cheryl Sherry Denise Harbin

Cheryl D. (Sherry) Harbin, age 61, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church. Sherry graduated from The University of Tennessee in 1979; she was a member of Pat Summitt’s first Junior Varsity Lady Vols team in 1974. She had a 24 year career at University of Tennessee Veterinary Clinic and also worked at Forest Park Veterinary Clinic. She refereed high school volleyball for over 20 years. Sherry loved to visit lighthouses, collect stamps, and raise cats. Preceded in death by parents, G.R. and Frances Harbin; and brother, Robby Harbin. Survivors include twin brother, Jerry D. Harbin and wife Nancy; brother, David B. Harbin and wife Jennifer; nieces, Jennifer Whitaker and husband David, and Rebekah, Haley, and Erin Harbin; nephew, Jon Harbin and wife Katie; great nieces, Addie Mae Whitaker and Maelyn Harbin; great nephew, Ethan Whitaker; special friends, Jennifer Stevens and Terry Stewart and many others who helped her through her battle. The family will receive friends from 5:00 -7:00 pm Tuesday with the funeral service to follow at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, 701 Merchant Drive, Knoxville, TN 37912. Dr. James McCluskey and Dr. John Green will officiate. Family and friends will meet at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Highway, Alcoa, TN 37701 for the 1:00 pm Wednesday interment service.
