

Jarvis, Clarence J., age 88, passed away on January 31, 2022 after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 3, 1933 in Rockbridge, VA. Clarence served in the US Army during the Korean War. His career was spent in the automotive industry, retiring from Ted Russell Ford Body Shop in Knoxville. Clarence had a passion for older cars and always drove an older model, made back "when a car was a car!" He enjoyed fishing and spending time at home with family. Clarence had a quiet, humble, generous spirit and loved helping those in need. He was always easy to spot wearing his trademark Ted Russell Ford hat and that sweet Clarence smile!
Clarence was preceded in death by parents, William Roy and Virgie Hall Jarvis of Rockbridge, VA; wife, Ruth Fitzgerald Jarvis; brother, Roy Jarvis; daughter, Teresa Jarvis Lawrence. He is survived by children, Sandy Hunt, Sharon Mundy and Timmy Jarvis; sisters, Virginia Billington, Mary Francis Irving and Kelly Jarvis, all of Virginia; several stepchildren, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews throughout TN and VA.
Graveside service will take place at 2:30pm Saturday, March 12th at New Gray Cemetery, 2724 Western Ave. Knoxville, TN 37921 meeting at the cemetery at 2:15pm. Family and friends will be pallbearers.
