

Morgan, Dan Clark born on November 20, 1923, age 89 of Knoxville, when his work on earth was done he went home to be with the Lord on June 24, 2013. A Central High School graduate of 1942, he was a WWII Veteran who proudly served in the European Front in the United States Army. Dan was a retired owner of Service Pump. He spent many years in Townsend, enjoying the mountains and serving as a deacon at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church, before moving back to Knoxville. He was a longtime member of Washington Pike United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Zell Bohanon Morgan and his siblings, Joe Morgan, Martha Frances Walker, Fred “Bud” Morgan, and Jack Morgan.
He leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Mildred Brewer Morgan, son Dan Morgan, Jr. and wife Libby, of Knoxville. Granddaughters and husbands Kelly and Jeff Phillips of Knoxville and Stacy and Wade Hutches of Asheville, NC, and great grandchildren: Matty, Kendall, Morgan and Hunter Phillips and Reese and Chance Hutchens, his sister Margaret and Clay Watson, brother Harry and Rosalie Morgan, sister-in-laws Jewel Morgan, Lena Spurgeon and brother-in-law A.J. Brewer, along with a many special nieces and nephews.
Serving as honorary Pallbearers: His band of brothers, members of the US Army 435th MVD Co.
In lieu of flowers, please make any donations in Dan’s memory to the American Heart Association or Washington Pike United Methodist Church Youth Ministry.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses of the Second Floor Cardiac Care Unit at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital.
The Morgan family will receive fiends Wednesday from 5-7pm in the Lynnhurst/Greenwood Chapel. A Funeral Service will follow at 7pm with Dr. Pat Polis and Dr. Jim Bailes officiating.
