Darlene Konold Hunnicutt

Hunnicutt, Darlene Konold, age 88, of Powell, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 after a brief illness. She was born August 16, 1923 in Avoca, MN. She was an active member of Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Powell. She retired from Y-12 after 25 years of service where she worked as a secretary in the safety department. She enjoyed playing the piano and was an avid ballroom dancer. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, James Lewis Hunnicutt; parents, William and Martha Konold; 6 older brothers and 5 older sisters; sons-in-law, Jackie Armstrong, Don Treesh, and Charlie Meade.

Survived by loving and adoring daughters, Vickie Treesh of Corneilus, NC, Michelle Bethel and husband David of Knoxville, TN, and Candace Meade of Powell, TN; grandchildren, Wendi Brown and husband Donavon of Powell, TN, Kristi Daniel and husband Brian of Chattanooga, TN, Shawna Harp and husband Mickey of Knoxville, TN, and Dustin Meade of Birmingham, AL; great grandchildren, Connor and Bryant Davis, Tanner and Cameron Harp, Isaiah Daniel, and Ian Brown, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Friday, August 17 with the funeral service to follow with Dr. Thomas Sweet officiating.
