Darrell Loranzo Swearengin, Sr., age 81, departed this life on October 23, 2016. He was a member of the first Fulton High School graduating class in 1952 and retired from AT&T after 37 years of service. His later years were filled with a large variety of creative activities including woodworking, stained glass and gardening. He was very active at his church, Central Church of God. As a member of Masters Lodge 244, he was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Darrell was preceded in death by his son, Darrell, Jr. (who died on October 5, 2016); parents, Heiskel and Ruby Swearengin; sisters, Sandra and Glenevive. Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 63 years, Betty; son, David (Sherry) Swearengin; daughter Patti Manier; grandson, Michael Manier; granddaughter Rachel Stoner; great-granddaughters Peyton and Jada Wright and great-grandsons, Maxon Manier and Brody Wright; daughter-in-law, Mary Swearengin; sisters, Wanda, Euretta, Janice and Joan; brother, Mickey; and a large extended family. A Celebration of his life will be held at Central Church of God, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 12 noon. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am – the service hour.
