Maybe some might not know why I call him Uncle DD but the story goes when I was very little I couldn't say Uncle Daivd and it would come out Uncle DD.  I have many fond memories of being with Uncle DD, like when he would lift me up, put me in his lap to ride in his wheelchair with him. Or there is the time that I got to ride in it by myself which I thought was pretty cool.  I was so little then and didn't understand how important that wheelchair was to him and I know it's because he never showed that he was any different then anyone else, and to me, he always had legs and could go where ever he wanted just like anyone else.  As I got older the name Uncle DD stuck and to this day I still call him that.  He helped me through hard times and brought me closer to the Lord which I am forever greatful to him and God!  I would draw and fax him pictures to lift his spirits and we would share things with eachother that I wouldn't share with anyone else.  There was something about his voice, it was so soft, calm and he could make you feel better reguardless of what he was feeling or going through and sometimes talking to him I felt just like a little kid again sitting in his lap and going for a ride.  He was an amazing man and his purpose here on earth touched so many. God knew what he was doing when he created Uncle DD and I am so glad he was in my life and I got to share just a breath or a secound of his life with him.  I feel much better now knowing he's not alone and that he has his legs and I can talk with him anytime I please. Some of my children never got the blessing of meeting him when he was here with us on earth but they will alwyas know a picture or a story of him and will always know him by the name Uncle DD. David Walter Harding was my brother and spiritual advisor to help my wife Mary and I to get through a very difficult time in our life.  David helped bringing me to the Lord and plus the rest of the family,Richard, Vicki,and Sonny. I know that there are very many levels of heaven and I grant you he is at one of the highest levels with the Lord Jesus.  Best of all he is dancing and walking with many loved ones who have left earlier.  When David passed I felt like somebody took a knife and cut a big piece of my heart out.  We all loved him more than words can say.  It's a blessing to have known this man and plus having him a brother of mine.  David was always a giving person and he always listens to everyone's sorrows and hardships that they were going through. Because David was confined to his room for 4 years he would always reach out to others to help them.  He reminds me of Paul in the Bible.  I will always miss my brother David until I take my last breath on this earth.  He was an officer in the Army of the Lord and his name was Lt. Commander Simeon.  As I said before Dave, I salute you I miss you and I love you always. Job well done soldier

David was a wonderful friend with whom I could talk about anything! We met while I was working in Knoxville in the the mid 90's and became steadfast buddies.Although we only spoke occassionally over the last 10 years, he was often on my mind. I was always in awe of his personal and spiritual strength. He will be greatly missed, but always in mine and my husband's hearts.

Please accept my condolences. I knew David for ten years while I worked at Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service before my fourteen year olds were born (twins). What a great guy.

Dad, I saw a different side of you that many of your friends didn't see. Being your only daughter was such a joy.  I am stuck here thinking for my own selfish reasons, "why did you have to leave us so soon?"  But then I think about how ready you were to go when God called for you, and how much you must be loving heaven right about now.  Your love for my grandma Iva and the reunion with many old friends and family members must be great, but even more, being with Jesus must be the best feeling ever.  You are free of pain and suffering, and I want you to know we all love and miss you.  Please watch over us, and I promise you we will see you again someday. I love you daddy and as you always ended every letter and card to me... xoxo

Calm is what I remember about Uncle Dave. Back then it was like
he knew something I didn't. HE DID! He not only knew Jesus but Jesus knew him! He gave my brother Rex his first bible and Jesus standing there with a big smile and saying "Welcome home"
I know Rex has touched 100's  so far. So just how many did David
touch with the WORD? Only Jesus knows for sure and Jesus and

David was the best brother a sister could have.  I am a life that was changed because of him. He loved me unconditionally and was always there for me when I needed to talk. David had a gift of connecting with women and understanding their feelings & emotions. David & I had a very good relationship and we could talk about anything with one another.  My heart aches that he is gone but at the same time my heart rejoices knowing he is with his Lord & Savior in Heaven. David's family was at his bed side when he passed and it was a blessing to be there when he crossed over into paradise to be with the Lord. I heard him take his last breath and felt his last heart beat. He is at rest in Jesus and we will see him again in the blink of an eye. I will miss you & love you always.  ~Sister Vicki~

Bob was living in Miami when he introduced me to Dave by phone.  It was 1972.  He was a good friend to Bob and I throughout all our years together, and was a great friend to me after Bob passed away.  Our daughter Leiah referred to him as her "Uncle" Dave. Enough kind words can not be said about David...he was much more than a friend, but a person who demonstrated every Christlike character I hope to become.  He was always a light when I was in a dark place in my life and the things he taught me will always be treasured and used to continue his legacy of loving people.
