Stansberry, David, age 77, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Mr. Stansberry was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from the Knoxville Police Department after 21 years of service. He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Shirley Ann Lister Stansberry; father, Harry Stansberry and mother, Mabel B. Pickett. Survived by son, Steve Stansberry; uncle, Robert Douglas Smith and brother, Michael Pickett. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN. Family and friends will meet at 10am Friday, May 15th for a graveside service in Lynnhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police.
