Diana Galyon Whitaker, born on March 16, 1962, was called home on February 14, 2026, at the age of 63. Diana was a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a dedicated employee of Lawler & Wood Properties for many years. She was a devoted member of Washington Pike United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years. Diana was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Mary Galyon; nephew, Daniel Galyon; aunts and uncles: Polly and Verliss Loveday, James and Marie Nichols; as well as several cousins and beloved friends.
She is survived by her son, Michael Whitaker; brother, Jeffrey Galyon; grandchildren, Annabelle and Grayson Whitaker; sister-in-law, Jeanie Galyon; nephews, Kevin Galyon, Austin Galyon and Jacob Ramsey; and many extended family members.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Dr.,
Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00 AM graveside service.
