Doris H. McGill

Doris Ann Holt McGill, 91, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025. Doris was born on February 10, 1934 in Knoxville, TN and graduated from East High School in 1953. In 1955, she married the love of her life, Bobby McGill. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Bobby preceded Doris in October of 2018.

A devoted homemaker and mother, Doris dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was a woman of kindness and warmth, always putting others before herself. Her gentle spirit and sweet nature made her a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Doris found joy in the simple pleasures of life—sewing, gardening, and nurturing those around her.

She is survived by her daughter, Tamara; her son, Michael, and his wife, Janet; and her beloved grandchildren, Ashlee, Jessica, and Justin and great granddaughter, Blaire. Her legacy of love and devotion lives on in each of them.

A celebration of Doris’s life will be held at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Drive from 10:00am-11:00am on Tuesday, February 18th with graveside service to follow at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
