Eugene Cureton, age 84, of Knoxville, went home to be with Jesus on January 27, 2017 at home. He was retired from Harrison Construction Company and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Effie Cureton; brothers, Ray, Thomas, Winfred, James, Burnett, and Roger Cureton; sister, Kathleen Mills Nelson. Survivors include loving wife, Christine Cureton; daughters, Gina Duck and husband Scott, Susan Byrum and husband Steve, Debbie Hale and husband Mike. Grandchildren; Heather Duck, Stephen Eugene Byrum, Amanda Hale, Andrew Duck, Scottie Byrum, and Delaney Duck. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Sister-in-law; Joyce Cureton and daughters Tammy and Laurie. Special thanks to his nurse, Jennifer, with Amedisys Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 pm Monday with the funeral service to follow at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive. Rev. Charles Lynch and Rev. Dan Hix will officiate.
