Glenna Ruth Rains

Glenna Rains, 77, passed on May 26, 2026. A resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, Glenna was a member of Inskip Baptist Church and will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude by all who knew her. Even in life’s more difficult seasons, she carried a steady dignity—often softened by a well-timed sense of humor that could lighten a room and bring comfort when it was needed most. She was known for always greeting friends and family with a big "Hello Doll"

Glenna dedicated more than 32 years of service to Knox County Schools, giving her time and care faithfully over decades of work that mattered to her community.

Glenna was preceded in death by Daughter: Kristy Rains Stewart; Husband: Edward L. Rains Jr; and Parents: Charles & Gladys White. She is survived by Daughter; Kimberly “Kym” Rains; and Grandchildren: Aiyana Davidson, Micah Rollins, Mackensie Hardison, Thunder Norris.

Visitation will be held at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 West Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918, US, on June 1, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 7:00 pm. A Graveside Service will take place at Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2300 West Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918, US, on June 2, 2026, at 11:00 am. Mike Segers will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Polk Cline, Corey Johnson, Tony Gunn, De Sims, Anthony Maples Jr, and Drew Lane.

The family extends special thanks to Anthony Maples Jr, Drew Lane, and Courtney O’Brien for their kindness and support.

In keeping with Glenna’s wishes, guests are asked to wear bright, happy colored casual dress.
