Gordon Howard "Red" Griggs, age 74, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at home. He was a member of Binghamtown Baptist Church Middlesboro, KY. He was employed at Tarr Chevrolet in Jefferson City, TN and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Evelyn Griggs; and brother, Ronnie Griggs. Survived by wife of 29 years, Joan Griggs; step-son, Raymond K. Cooper, Jr.; step-daughter, Debi Inman; 4 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great grandchildren; sisters, Renelda Roach of Franklin, TN and Jean Capps of Knoxville; special niece, Sherry Capps of Knoxville; niece, Cathy Milligan of Knoxville; nephew, Dr. Robert Roach of Nashville, TN; and a host of friends.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, December 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Dr. William Boyd Bingham will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Welch, Raymond Cooper, Jr., Gary Hall, Jerry Hampton, Steve Hall and Rick Adams.
