Mr. Harold Monroe Steele

Harold M. Steele, age 82 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2017. He was a member of Powell United Methodist Church. Harold graduated from Central High School and spent several years serving in the Naval Reserve. He worked for Van Slyke Volkswagen for many years before going into business owning and operating 3 different service stations in Lenoir City, Oak Ridge and Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Gladys Steele; siblings: Elmer and Burl Steele and June Ruggles. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Cecilia (Ceci) Steele; children: Monty Steele and Teresa Bayless (Scott); grandchildren: Chase Steele, Simone Steele and Tyler Bayless; great grandchildren: Oliver and Benjamin Davis; sister Bobbie Sue Parker; extended family: JoAnn, Russell, Tina and Riley Long and Greg, Melissa and Emma Wilkinson, along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 in the chapel of Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 with Pastor Brian Davis officiating. Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11:00 am in Lynnhurst Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the gravesite by 10:45 am for the service.
