Gill, Howard W., age 95, of Powell, passed away Friday, August19, 2011. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Powell. Mr. Gill is a former part owner of Smokey Mountain Aero and former owner of Gill Water Company. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps serving in WWII. Preceded in death by his parents Norman and Foye Gill and sister-in-law Ruth Gill.
Survivors include his brother Lynnus Gill and sister Thelma Word and her husband Prentys and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6-7 pm at the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 7 pm with Pastor Phil Jones and Associate Pastor Jim Wadell officiating. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at 10:45 am in Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11 am interment service. Friends may leave their condolences at www.lynnhurstchapel.com.
