Irene Iskandor Harb was welcomed into the arms of Jesus Christ in the early morning hours of June 16th, 2018. She was 90 years old. Irene lived in Michigan, Florida, and Tennessee. She lived an extraordinary life.
Born in Ramallah, Palestine, Irene emigrated to the United States in 1956 with her husband and their three sons. She was an active member of her church, singing in the choir and serving people. Irene always had a beautiful smile on her face, and she made sure that even a complete stranger knew they were loved. Irene’s favorite sentence was, “I love you.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Iskandor Harb; son, Jad Harb; brothers, Mufid Harb and Jaleel Harb. Irene is survived by her sons, Ralph Harb and Al Harb; daughters-in-law, Rima Harb, Bonnie Harb, and Helen Harb. She is known as “Tata” to 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
The Receiving of Friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19th at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home 2300 West Adair Drive, Knoxville, Tennessee 37918. The Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20th, with committal service following also at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Pallbearers to include; Alex Harb, Bobby Harb, Billy Harb, Fredrick Harb, Sharif Harb, and Hanna Harb.
Irene would give thanks to God in every circumstance or challenge that life would bring. The Harb Family invites all who mourn her loss to give thanks, as she did. Irene is with her Savior eternally, thanks be to God.
