Shoemaker, Jacob William, Jr. age 82 of Rutledge formerly of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, November 15th from complications of Dementia. He played football at Georgia Tech and was on the National Championship Team of 1952. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He moved to Knoxville in 1961. He owned Jake’s Printing Service and enjoyed the many friendships made there. He had many passions in his life, but enjoyed his many years in both officiating high school football and traveling around the world working different car races especially at Road Atlanta in Georgia. He is preceded in death by parents Jacob and Dorothy Shoemaker, brothers William and Robert Shoemaker and wife of 57 years Vivian Shoemaker. He is survived by daughter Denise Bennett, sister Barbara Ledyard in Canada, Jim Shoemaker in Florida and their children.
