

Rounsaville, James, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 2, 2013 with his loving daughter, son-in-law and special caregiver Jenna by his side. Jim was born August 20, 1927 in Sequatchie, TN to James E. and Evelyn Rounsaville. He served in the United States Army as a S/Sgt in WWII and the Korean War, receiving the WWII Victory Medal, Korean Service Medal and UN Service Medal. He also served as S/Sgt in the TN National Guard until 1956, being promoted to Warrant Officer in 1949. After completing his obligations to the armed forces, Jim returned to Oak Ridge where he was employed by the Atomic Energy Commission (later renamed Dept. of Energy) and Oak Ridge Associated Universities. On the evening of October 4, 1952, Jim married the love of his life, Ruth Eileen Collins, after being baptized into the Seventh-Day Adventist Church that morning. As a member of the Knoxville Seventh-Day Adventist Church Jim served the Lord in various positions. Jim lovingly provided for his family and was a wonderful role model teaching his daughter and son honesty and integrity. He enjoyed gardening and yard work, visiting his children and vacationing in Sarasota. Jim is predeceased by his cherished wife of 49 years, Ruthie.
He is survived by his daughter, Janice (Dave) Leavenworth, son Tim, granddaughters, Tristan (Angelo) DeMartino and Delaney (Tyler) Chapman, great-granddaughters, McKenna, Grayson, Devlyn and Callia; sisters-in-law Helen Barto, Martha (Glenn) Mitchell, and Delores Collins. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to caregivers Angie and Jake for their compassion and care and especially to Jenna, Kim, Mary and Shannon for their loving kindness and care in helping our Dad live out his final days in peace, comfort and well-deserved dignity.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 6 – 8 pm at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. The family and friends will meet at 12:45 pm at Greenwood Cemetery for a graveside service at 1pm.
