James L. Wise, age 79, Passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020. He was of the Baptist Faith. James worked for Knoxville Sheet Metal for 38 years before opening Volunteer Transportation Services. He was an avid U.T. sports fan and enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Clifford and Ola Wise; brothers, J.C. and Jerome Wise; sister, Freida Wilson. Survived by wife of 62 years, Joyce Wise; children, Chris Wise and wife Teresa, Clay Wise and wife Patti, Donna Wise, Phillip Wise, Jeffrey Wise and wife Kym; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brother, Marion Wise and wife Vivian; nieces and nephews. Friends may call at their convenience from 4-7 pm Tuesday at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918. Family and friends will meet at 2:45 pm for the graveside service at 3 pm Wednesday at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Rev. David Trent will officiate.
