Jimmy Chan Hong, age 86, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023. He lived in Knoxville most of his life with a brief residency in Cocoa, Florida where he worked at Cape Canaveral. Jimmy was a U.S. Navy veteran, Radioman, 2nd Class. He spent most of his career as a sales representative working for companies selling business forms and forms management systems to businesses in Middle and East Tennessee before opening his own business, Advantage Business Forms, and settling back into his hometown of Knoxville.
Jimmy was known as a kindhearted man with a gentle soul to his children, extended family and friends. He was a loyal and dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who placed his family before himself. Jimmy adored his wife, Edie. She was the love of his life and when he passed away their grandson, AJ, said it best, “My grandfather just entered the streets of gold with his princess waiting on him.”
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 60 years, Edith Delores Hong and parents, Lee Bing Hong and Esther Amelia Hong. Surviving family members include his children and their partners, Donald (Linda) Hong, Michael (Diane) Hong, Delores Canizales, daughter by love, Angelita Dunaway, Gina (Fredrick) Clatterbuck; brother, Richard (Patti) Hong; grandchildren, Argenis “AJ” (Havyn) Canizales, Amanda (Thomas) Hancock, Brittany Hong, Deidra Canizales and Jaimee Hong; great grandchildren, Bryson, Bee, Bryli, Kingston, Iree, Alden, Asher and Isaac; several nieces and nephews.
