

JoAnne (Elledge) Hoffmeister, 92 of Knoxville, TN, brought her journey on this earth to an end peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025 and now has been reunited with her husband, Earl; sons, David and Dan;
parents, Robert Sr. and Eulene Elledge; brothers, Marvin and Evans Elledge; daughter-in-law, Jenny Hoffmeister, along with other family and friends to enjoy the eternal life that we all dream of. What a joyous reunion that will be!
JoAnne lived a full life raising three children, keeping books for Earl, and even mowing hay fields. She was a long standing member and founder of Noweta Garden Club of Powell, TN. She was a member of Powell Methodist Church for many years. She loved spending time with family and friends. JoAnne enjoyed caring for roses and was always ready to go out eating and shopping.
She is survived by daughter, Debbie (Jerry) Johnson; grandsons, Jason ( Michelle) Hoffmeister and Will Johnson; great grandchildren, Colton and Natalie Hoffmeister; daughter-in-law, Nancy Hoffmeister; nieces, nephews, and extended family, Steven (Dawn) George and their sons, Riley and Zachary.
JoAnne enjoyed friends and the sweet staff while at Morning Pointe Senior Living of Powell, TN. After health issues, she made her home with the loving staff at Holston Health and Rehabilitation Center Knoxville, TN. When JoAnne reached the final walk of her life, she was encircled by the beloved staff of Sacred Ground Hospice House of Knoxville, TN under Caris Healthcare. In her final days, she was surrounded by family and friends who talked to her, held her hands, and prayed over her.
A call of convenience for JoAnne will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 West Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918. A visitation will occur Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at Powell United Methodist Church, 323 W Emory Rd, Powell, TN 37849 with a funeral service following at 1:00 PM with Dr. Tommy Louthan officiating. A committal service will occur Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918 immediately following funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the food pantry of Powell Methodist Church, 323W. Emory Road, Powell, TN 37849.
