

He peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1964. In his youth, he was a lifeguard at Whittle Springs and a competitive swimmer. He graduated from Fulton High School in 1956 and then joined the Army Reserves. He attended Hiwassee College where he was a Vice President of the Advancement of Management before transferring to Tennessee Wesleyan College where he received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He worked at Standard Knitting Mill for 26 years where he was a Senior Corporate Officer and Vice President of Pony Apparel. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many hours hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a loving husband, a devoted family man, and a friend to everyone.
Preceded in death by parents Clyde A. and Nelle Mischlich and sister Jean (Mischlich) Haynes.
Survived by wife of 65 years, Charlene Mischlich, daughters Sherri Forester and husband, Tad; Vicki Forester and husband, Randy. Son, Steve Mischlich and wife, Heather. Grandchildren, Corey Forester (Sarah), Nicholas Forester (Kendra), Elizabeth Forester (Nico), Katherine Forester (Coury), Brandon Mischlich, Bentley Mischlich, Zane Mischlich, & Keltie Mischlich. Great-Grandchildren Charlie Forester, Collins Forester, Niall Forester, & Guillermo Potere. Sister-in-law Roxie Notgrass Ferguson.
A graveside service will be held at Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2300 West Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918, US, on May 18, 2026, at 1:00 pm. Graveside at Berry Lynnhurst Cemetery
