Katherine Ila Wilhite Poe, age 89, passed away peacefully at her sons house in Powell. She was born in Jefferson County, in New Market and graduated in 1946 from New Market High School. She was the widow of George T. Poe, who passed away on October 25, 2016. They were married for 66 years. Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Keith Thomas Poe; parents: Oliver and Gertrude Wilhite; brothers: Bonn, Guy and Gene Wilhite. Survivors include her son Les and daughter-in-law Debbie Poe; beloved granddaughter Kristy J. Poe and great grandson D.J. Brooks. A special thank you to the staff at U.T.
