Kathy L. Altom passed on June 3, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on December 11, 1954, Kathy was a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, and lived her life with steady purpose and quiet dignity, grounded in her Baptist faith.
For over 35 ears, Kathy worked as a barber, serving others through honest work, familiar conversation, and the simple, lasting comfort of a job done well. She was also a huge wrestling fan, a spirited interest that brought her enjoyment and brightened everyday moments.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Altom; Momma and Daddy Bud and Louise Hayes; and her sister, Carolyn Brooks.
Kathy is survived by her brother, Glen Hayes (Debbie), and her sister, Teffany (Michael) Hill. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Dewey Brooks, Sabrina Brooks, Drinnen Hayes, Tanner Hill, and seven great-nieces. Above all, her pride and joy was Fenley.
Kathy will be cremated in accordance with her wishes.
