Kathy M. Kerwin

Kathy M Kerwin, (age 68), born April 1 1955, was surrounded by her family as she entered into heaven on October 17, 2023. Kathy was fiercely independent, extremely creative and had a flair for fashion and fun. She enjoyed flowers, jewelry making, dancing, music and swimming. Kathy, known as “Kat” to her friends coordinated many social events for various groups. Kathy also had an incredible thirst for knowledge. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee and a Masters Degree from Roane State College. Kathy was retired from Y-12 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She received the Pat Summit Award for teaching Senior Water Aerobics. Kathy was an advocate for equality.

Kathy was the eldest of five children. She was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Jack Kerwin. She leaves behind, her beloved cats, Zona Mae and Graybeard, brothers John Kerwin (Merilee) Michael Kerwin (Jerri Lynn), sisters Connie Kerwin (Edmund), Mary Kerwin Moreland (Mike), nephew Ben Kerwin, nieces Kelly Kerwin Kristof (Adam), Julia Kerwin Childress (Matthew), Olivia Kerwin Williams (Dustin).

Great nephews and nieces, Elliott and Aria Williams, Ava and Max Kristof, Fordham and Maverick Childress. Many special friends and the “LOVE OF HER LIFE”.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, October 22, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Berry-Lynnhurst Funeral Home located at 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, Tennessee, 37918.
