Kurt and I were like brother and sister. He knew me since I was 5 years old and taught me everything I knew about cheerleading/ tumbling. He was by far my favorite coach of all time. We would fight ALOT, he would even throw some shoes at me or walk out of the gym because he knew I had so much talent and did not want me to waste it! He was much like a brother to me! He taught me how to be the women I am today! Kurt and I were at the gym probably everyday from when I was 6-18 years old. Kurt even after I graduated high school and went to cheer in college would message me all the time asking how I had been and how life was going. And I realized he wasn’t just a coach... he was a friend to me. I love Kurt with all my heart and will miss his sweet smile forever.
love, Courtney Ferren

I’m deeply grieved for the family and friends of Kurt. Like many, Kurt was one of my tumbling coaches from the start of my cheerleading “career”. While I left the competitive cheerleading world over 11 years ago, I have super fond and fun memories of having Kurt as my coach. He made everyone laugh and possessed a kindness that eased my anxiety in a very high-stress environment. I’m so thankful to the Lord to have known him for several years! He will be so very missed.

Oh, Kurt! I am at a loss for words. You were my "borrowed son," a fixture at the house. I am very thankful that Rebecca shared her friends and youth with me. It kept me young and helped me understand on a whole different level. I will remember your amazing sense of humor, your talent, and your kindness. I am thankful that you were on loan to us for these years. My most heartfelt condolences to your wonderful mother Sue and your brother Eric. Such a deep loss, and I realize words are inadequate. I know your essence is all around us--in a shooting star, a little whirlwind, a beautiful sunset. I'll be watching for you. Bye for now.

Words don’t even begin to explain how extraordinary Kurt is. Through many many years of tumbling with Kurt, my favorite memories came from times I had with him. Anytime I talk about tumbling I can’t help but share stories with Kurt, and will continue to share the impact he made on my life. Kurt kept me going for over 10 years, and was even the reason I came back to tumbling after an injury and was terrified to return. He had something no other coach did. Kurt cared like no other, and had a special way of touching the lives he entered. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Kurt. Continually praying for his family.

I remember when I was younger. Coach Kurt was my gymnastics teacher for many years and he was my favorite teacher i had by far. He taught me so much past how to do a kartwheel, his personality made me love the sport and helped shape me today, I miss him to this day I hope he finds peace.

Praying for your family during this difficult time. Prayers for God's sweet peace and comfort only He can give.
Kurt was always so kind during my highschool years. I was always very shy. He always made sure to speak to me and his smile was always a blessing. Such a sweet blessing from God. He will be missed.
