

She was the only child of Mattie and John Pedigo.
Louise was born September 3, 1923 in Knoxville, TN where she lived for 85 years. Her last 3 years were spent in Oregon close to her youngest son and his family. She graduated from Knoxville High School in
1941 and married "G.C." Burton, who was a gunner in the US Air Force during WW II and was shot down over the Roumanian oil fields just 6 months after their marriage. Several years later she met and married Otto "Hoppy" Godfrey and they had two sons. They divorced in 1954.
Louise worked for the Tennessee Department of Human Services in the Food Stamps Division and retired in 1985. She had an immense love for people and nature and she especially loved Cades Cove. Her fondest days were those she spent on horseback. She was an accomplished watercolor artist and won an award for a painting she did of Peery's Mill in Walland, TN.
Louise is survived by her son, John and wife Susie of Knoxville, and son Paul and wife, Pam of Terrebonne, Oregon. She had 4 grandchildren, Shannon, Brandon, Haley, and Ashley, and one great-grandson, Elijah. She was also especially loved by her cousins Billie and Bill Varner of Wichita, KS, and special friends Amy Dalton of Knoxville, and Amy and Callie Jo Stanford of Herriman, UT.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday at Lynnhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Drive.
