Mae “Polly” Whaley Young, age 82, of Knoxville, went to rest in the arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 14, 2018. She was a charter member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Grace Whaley; granddaughter, Lauren Ashlee; son-in-law, Michael Hodges; daughter-in-law, Kathy Young; several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Young is survived by husband of 56 years, Rev. Charles Young; children, Randall, Joy, Dwayne and wife Yulia, Talena Hodges, Charles, Jr., Demarcus and wife Delicia; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Irvin, Wayman, Martin, and Winfield Whaley; sisters, JoAnn Hudgins, Mildred Stratton, and Roma McKee. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 5 – 7 pm at Church of God of the Union Assembly, 3428 Keith Ave., Knoxville, TN 37921. The funeral service will follow.
