

Loy, Marilynn, age 65, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2010 at Ft. Sanders Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Her loving family was at her side. Marilynn spent 65 years serving her family, friends and anyone who was fortunate enough to come in contact with her. Marilynn was loved and admired by everyone who knew her, not only for her infectious enthusiasm and witty humor, but her unbeatable spirit as well. Throughout her entire life she enjoyed spending time with family, remodeling and decorating homes, and camping. What we remember most was Marilynn’s giving spirit, her determination, her ability to immediately put people at ease and her extreme love for children and animals. Marilynn spent over 20 years serving and teaching children at Belle Morris and Pond Gap Elementary Schools in Knoxville. She was born on September 26, 1944 in Knoxville to Theodore and Freda Finley Justice.
Preceded in death by parents, Theodore and Freda Justice; sister, Freda Justice Harper; and brother, Walter Justice. Marilynn is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Charles (Bud) Loy; daughter, Denna Grogan and son, Jeffrey DeMarcus of Knoxville; son-in-law, Don Grogan and granddaughter, Kacie Grogan of Knoxville; son-in-law, Alan Lovell and wife Teresa and daughters, Lynsa and Brittney of Knoxville; sister, Charlotte Justice of Knoxville; brother, John Justice and wife, Jean of Bella Vista, AR; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Marilynn Loy Fund for Children, Pond Gap Elementary School, 1401 Hollywood Dr, Knoxville, TN 37909 to the attention of Susan Espiritu.
