Marshall James Hankins, age 81, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018. He was a member of Dante Church of God, where he was an usher and served in the Food Ministry. Preceded in death by parents, Jasper and Dora Hankins; son, Jesse J. Coffey, Jr.; sisters, Mae Wilson and Edna Hankins. Survivors include daughter, Marsha Thompson and boyfriend D.A. Dodson; ex-wife, Mary Hankins; ex son-in-law, Jesse Thompson; grandchildren, Jamie Thompson and fiancée Alex Savage, Taylor Thompson and fiancée Jacob Taylor, Katie Thompson, Jessie Thompson, Jessica and husband Eddie Switzer, Jenny and husband Dee Bowman, Janice Hill, James Lyon, Brandon and wife Tiara Coffey, Brent and wife Kimmie Coffey; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Runyon, Lynda Sellers, and Birdie Jane Anderson. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm Monday with the funeral service to follow at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive. Brother David Snyder and David Shepard will officiate. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at Caledonia Cemetery for the 2 pm graveside service. Pallbearers, Brandon Coffey, Brent Coffey, Alex Savage, Jacob Taylor, Kayden Coffey, and D.A. Dodson.
