

She was born February 16, 1926 in the Karns community of Knoxville and lived for her entire
adult life in Fountain City. She graduated from Karns High School in 1944 and then attended
Knoxville Business College. She previously worked for Miller’s Department Store and Dr. Pat
Kelly, but she will mostly be remembered for her legacy as a devoted mother, grandmother, and
wife of a coach and principal. She was a lifelong member of Fountain City Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Dan York Boring, parents, Ira
L.and Mittie Belle Walters; sisters, Gladys Leinart and Frances Elmo Chesney; brother, Boyd
Walters, and step-granddaughter, Brandy Maples. Survivors include son, Danny (Laura) Boring
of Knoxville; daughter, Janie (Greg) Hart of Birmingham, AL; granddaughter, Ashley (Jason)
Fuller of Maynardville; grandsons, Matt (Julie) Hart of Birmingham, AL; Andrew (Diana) Hart
of Gulf Shores, AL, and Nathan (Jennifer) Hart of Birmingham, AL; great-grandchildren, Davis,
Cooper, Blakely, and Nate; sister, Wilma Peterson, and many nieces and nephews. The family
would like to thank all of the kind and caring staff at Park View Fountain City, Morning Pointe
of Powell, and Tennova Residential Hospice. A special thank you as well to long-time friend
and caregiver, Ester Vogt. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 12:00-2:00pm at Berry
Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 West Adair Dr. Knoxville, TN 37918. The funeral
