Mary Katherine Brennan

Mary Katherine Brennan, age 92, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 in Charleston, SC. She was born June 10, 1928 in Knoxville, TN to the late William Edward Lack and Mildred Bowers Lawson Lack. She was the widow of James A. Brennan, her husband of 56 years and a longtime member of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Deal, sister in law, Ruth Brennan and brother in law, Charles Brennan.

She received a B.S. degree in Home Economics from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville in 1950 where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She taught school briefly in Arlington, VA and at Knoxville's Rule High School prior to raising her family.

Survivors include her son, James W. Brennan and his wife Marybeth of South Carolina; daughter, Donna and her husband Dr. Paul B Francis of Arkansas. Other survivors include grandsons Timothy Francis, Dearborn, MI and Anthony & Wesley Carter of South Carolina, great granddaughter Kaia Carter of South Carolina and brother in law, John Deal of Kingsport.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 pm Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918 (865) 689-8888. A Graveside Service will follow at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Rev. Ron Mouser will officiate.
