
Neoma Grace Cooper, age 90, of Farragut, passed away on January 29, 2016. She was a graduate of Karn’s High School, Knoxville Business College and attended the University of Tennessee. She was Knoxville’s first certified professional secretary and had a 50 year career in the corporate headquarters of Ira A. Watson Co. (Watson’s Stores) and the Watson Family, ending that period as corporate secretary, assistant to the chairmain/CEO and a member of the board of directors. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mamie Cooper, fiancé, Wm. Warren Nichols; sister, Alma McGill; brother-in-law, Hobart McGill; brother, Harvey Cooper; special nephew, Randall Warren McGill; grandnephew, Michael McGill. Survived by sister-in-law, Peggy Sharp Cooper; nephew, Gary McGill; niece, Deborah Harrington (David), and children: Ryan, Curt and Kristin (Mitchell) and their father, Barry McCarter; niece, Sharon Cooper Carpenter (Terry) and daughters: Lauren Simpson and her daughter Caroline, and son Taylor; Kelly Carpenter; grandniece, Kelly McGill Williams (Travis) and children: Jackson and Molly Grace; grandnephew, Stephen McGill and sons: Matthew and Cory; great grandnieces: Kendall and Jennaca. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 1:00 pm in Lynnhurst Cemetery.
