Champion, Noel M., age 92, of Knoxville, formerly of Sun City, AZ, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at U.T. Medical Center. He was a member of Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church, and a WW II Veteran in the U.S. Navy serving in the Pacific Theatre. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and worked in this field for over 50 years. He was active in Masonry for over 50 years, and enjoyed creating stained glass art in his free time. Preceded in death by wife of 56 years Lorraine Peterson Champion.
Survived by daughters, Carolyn Clark and husband Paul, Catherine Gargis, Christy Lange and husband Randall; grandchildren, Lindsay Medic and husband Danijel, Ashley Clark, Lori Wild and husband Christopher, Jessica Lange; great-grandchildren, Caleb Wild and Ethan Wild. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
There will be a memorial service 4 pm Saturday at Shannondale Retirement Center, 801 Vanosdale Rd, Knoxville, TN 37909. Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors, 223 Rosa L.
