Paul H Dobbins

Dobbins, Paul H., age 98, of Knoxville, passed away April 9, 2013 at Tennova Hospital. He was a long time member of Dante United Methodist Church and a charter member of Faith United Methodist Church where he served as a faithful servant in many offices including teaching Sunday School. He was also active with his wife, Marian in the ministry and activities of Norwood United Methodist Church, which he considered his “adopted “ church. He was honored by the Holston United Methodist conference with a life membership in the United Methodist Men. Paul was a member of the Powell Masonic Lodge for over 66 years, served as a scoutmaster, and loved traveling throughout the US. He was employed by Southern Railway for 18 years and by Union Carbide for 19 years. His commitment to his God and his faith endeared him to countless persons, young and old alike. Preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret. Survived by his wife, Marian Dobbins; the father of John and Dick Dobbins; step children, Joe Phillips, Becky Reese, and Dotty Bell; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Friday with Celebration of Life Service to follow at 8 pm at Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Humphrey and Rev. Bob Ruth officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 am Saturday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for the Interment at 10:30 am. Pallbearers are grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers are Faith United Methodist Men.
