Gouge, Paul James (Brother Paul), 89, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015, after a rapid health decline. He was preceded in death twenty years ago by his loving wife, Aleana. He surrounded himself with his work (Knox Keyboard), his church (Glen Oak Baptist), and his family: Six children – Mary Gail (David) Dawson, Paul Steven (Robin), (Gail Lee – deceased), Sandra Jean Golden, Kenneth James (Jo Anna), Shari (Wayne) Maynard, Charles Allen (Gemma, and her mother, Ena), and son-in-law Richard Elrod. Twelve grandchildren: Traci (John) Turner, Andrew (Misty), Jessica (Josh) Cantwell, Tia (Justin) Rutherford, Anthony, John, Joey, Jennifer, Blake, Ryan, Chad, Christopher. Granddaughter-in-law Jennifer Gouge, and step-granddaughter Candis Lacy. Twelve great-grandchildren: Haley, Rachel, Sara Kate, Colby, Connor, Chyler, Camden, Trey, Cayden, Jacob, Eli, and Addison. He also leaves a half- brother, Gene Gouge and two half-sisters, Carolyn and Vivian. Paul had been an ordained minister for fifty years and was very proud to be in God’s service. He also was a WWII Navy Veteran serving as a “Frogman”. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m. Sunday at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with a chapel service to follow at 2 p.m. with Brother Frankie Phillips officiating.
