

Pearl Marie (Slaton) Glenn, born December 3, 1919 (age 96), went home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2016, with her family by her side in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Nora Slaton; husband, Charlie Glenn; daughters, Lorene Stallings and Wanda Radcliff; step-son, Floyd Glenn; grandchildren, Tammy Gideon and Brad Radcliff; great grandchild, Jeremy Easterday; great-great grandchildren, Sydney Neely and Hunter Nicely; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Charles Glenn and wife Sally of Reklaw, Texas; Sondra Whaley and husband Pat of Knoxville, TN; Sheila Thornton and husband Ron of Harriman, TN; Jan Hickman and husband Walt of Kodak, TN; brother, Bobby Slaton of Knoxville, TN; sister, Nancy Valentine of Seymour, TN; and a host of special nieces and nephews. She was a loving grandmother (“Mimi”) to 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 37 great-great grandchildren, and 6 great-great-great grandchildren. She loved her family very much, and she was a devoted mother and grandmother but more than anything else, she loved Jesus, and she touched many lives with her testimony. She was a member of Sonlight Baptist Church for many years. She will be missed by many who loved her dearly. Special thanks to her doctor of 36 years, Dr. Gerald Mancebo. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 11, from 5 to 7 p.m., with the funeral at 7 p.m., at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, with Pastors Eddie Myers and Ronnie White officiating. Interment service will be at Greenwood Cemetery at 11 a.m. Wednesday, and family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning at Berry Lynnhurst for the processional to the cemetery.
