Phyllis K. McCarter 75 of Knoxville passed away on March 11, 2012 while surrounded by her family. She left this earth to go be with her heavenly father. She was preceded in death by parents John D. and Ruth A. LaFollette and brother Wallace LaFollette. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by us all. She leaves husband of 58 years Bill McCarter, 2 daughters Vicki Rutherford and Diane McCarter, sons Brian and Mark McCarter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter Lisa and Keyley Grissom. And many extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm Thursday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with a chapel service at 7 pm.
