

Winsky, Raymond Eugene, age 97, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 in the loving arms of his family. Ray was born July 30, 1924 in Kansas City, MO. He was a proud WWII veteran who served in the Army Air Corps where he learned to fly. Ray became a pilot and instructor. Ray was a member of South Side Baptist Church. With the help of the church and Brother Gresham, they built an airplane for the people of Zambia, Africa. Ray was the owner of Marco Transportation Trucking Company located in Knoxville, TN for over 14 years.
He was preceded in death by parents, John and Jessie Winsky; wife, Pansy M. Winsky; son, Steven Ray Winsky; brother, Norman J. Winsky; sister, Eva Lee Parker. Ray is survived by daughter, Rhonda (Thomas) Winsky; grandchildren, Leslee (Brendon) McMillan and Paige (Cody) Heck; great grandchildren, Zachary Emmett McMillan and Abigail Jade Heck; sisters, Jean M. Hagopian and Wilma J. Foster; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, October 5th from 11:00am to 12:30pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with funeral service following at 12:30pm. Pastor Kirk Schneemann to officiate. Interment will be at the East Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery on Governor John Sevier Highway after funeral service concludes where Military Honors will be rendered.
