Roy E. Sandberg

Sandberg, Roy E. was born in Knoxville, TN 12/12/1926 and went to his heavenly home December 4, 2010. He was preceded in death by Parents, William T. and Clora Anderson Sandberg; Wife of 41 years, Virginia Mitchell Sandberg; Brothers, Richard T. of Fountain City and John Harold of Miami, FL; Sisters, Mary Evelyn S. Preeschl of Miami, FL and Jane S. Barker, Heiskell, TN. He is survived by sister, Ruth S. Robinson of Knoxville, and very special niece, Joyce B. Parton, Heiskell, TN and special nieces and nephews. Roy attended Knoxville Central High School and Knoxville Business College Higher Accounting and Business. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served until he retired in 1970 to be one of the longest-living retirees. Loved Ones and friends may call at their convenience to Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, W. Adair Dr. on Monday, December 6th from 12-5 PM and Tuesday, December 7th from 9-11 AM. A Military Graveside Service will be held Tuesday at 12:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell PK., Knoxville with Rev. Keith Shown officiating. Friends will meet at the gates of Greenwood Cemetery Tuesday at 11:45 AM.
