Ruth J. Rising, age 87, passed away on May 3, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Jessie and Esther Roberts. Mrs. Rising was a member of Chilhowie Hills Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Joe Roberts, Arva Roberts and Marvin Roberts; sisters: Helen Trero Roberta Hall and Hala Dixon.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Philip O. Rising; daughter, Sheila Sellers (Gary); grandson, Andy Sellers, her pride and joy. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 PM in the chapel of Berry- Lynnhurst Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 PM with Rev. David Collins, officiating.
